On Negative Thoughts and Negative Engagement
While Donald Trump did not originally say this, I think that most people could believe that he did or could. The quote seems to be congruent with his management style. He is not one to involve and engage people, nor listen very well to their ideas if one believes the news, watches videos or even follows twitter.
We owe it to ourselves to do better than this if we manage people. We owe it to them to treat them with some dignity but the basic business reality is that there are big performance improvement opportunities available to us if we allow them to take part in performance improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to the processes of workplace innovation.
The Square Wheels Project focuses on the improvement of facilitation skills by impacting communications and sharing a meme about how things really work. The ideas for improvement already exist, so why not use a bit of time and some new ideas to impact motivation and creativity?
