Quip – On motivating and engaging people
For many years, I have used this quote to remind people that engagement is an active and involving process.
You cannot motivate people who are just not engaged. And you should look at alternative approaches to actually involve them.
This is supposedly a Navajo tribal proverb: “It is not possible to awaken someone who is pretending to be asleep.”
It is not possible to keep doing the same thing and expecting to get a different result.
