Thoughts on Training to solve Systems Problems
I’ve always liked our “Muscles” series, since they represent people who have improved their personal strengths through training and development (as opposed to through coaching and development, but what the heck, it IS just a series of cartoons).
This one is about the fallacy of thinking that training will improve processes.
Training does build strengths.
Organizational systems and processes require some different approach to getting improvements.
Sure, productivity will increase a bit through training, but involving and engaging people in process improvement might have a bigger impact.
