Note that your personal contributions to your team does NOT depend on your boss. Your co-workers can be the main source of your intrinsic motivation, along with knowing that you have done a good job.

But the reality is that we SHOULD change the perceptions and behaviors of your manager to recognize that all of us contribute to the final outcomes, each hour and each day.
