Here’s a Chinese Proverb about LEARNING that is also about perceptual acuity and perspective, collaboration, engagement, empowerment and all that stuff.

As a learning professional, I love this picture as it focuses specifically on learning. Additionally, as a student of servant leadership, I see this depicting an opportunity for a “boss” to help develop one of (in this case his) people. Any time a leader has an opportunity to help a follower learn and takes advantage of it, that leader is following one of the basic premises of servant leadership: follower development! Thanks, and absolutely. “Trust is the residue of promises fulfilled” (Frank Navran) and building up trust is something that simply occurs over time and experiences. How DO we get people to involve and engage with us? It can start with asking for their ideas. Things can roll on from there, hopefully more smoothly.
