Santa, Square Wheels, LEGO and Issues of People and Performance
I got the Santa Creator Set from LEGO and started messing around with my Square Wheels representation of how things really work in most organizations. After all, should Santa’s be expected to operate smoothly when everyone else has so many issues of people and performance? I am planning on doing a string of these about things like intrinsic motivation and innovation and on those issues of involvement and engagement.
Changing the Square Wheels to Round ones is not really a creativity or innovation issue, since the round wheels already exist.
The situation seems to be more about perspective and engagement, and about listening to different ideas and communicating between workers and management.
What to you think?
Do you think our Leader would accomplish more if he did something differently?
For the FUN of It!
