You would think that the solutions to problems would be obvious. But one also needs perspective. And teamwork.

Involving and engaging people requires their participation in the act of being involved and engaged. You accomplish that through discussions about their ideas for making things better. It needs an arms-length kind of discussion about what is not working smoothly and what ideas for improvement might exist. Then, you need their involvement in a program to implement those ideas.

 

Nobody ever washes a rental car. Ownership is critical for engagement and intrinsic motivation.

Just DO it!
